What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that removes dead skin cells and stimulates collagen production. This gentle form of skin abrasion can be used to tackle a number of complexion problems including discoloration, wrinkles and blemishes. A series of treatments at OBI BioAesthetic Institute will leave your skin looking vibrant and radiant.

What are the Benefits of Microdermabrasion Treatment?

If you are looking for a brighter, smoother and more even complexion, microdermabrasion is a great treatment option. It gives your skin a refreshed appearance by gently clearing away the superficial, outermost layer of skin. This helps remove dead skin cells and impurities.

The procedure also boosts collagen production, making your skin look and feel more youthful. These popular treatments can be performed on all skin types and tones and require little to no downtime. At OBI BioAesthetic Institute, in our skin and body spa we use microdermabrasion to improve common skin problems such as:

  • Age spots and brown spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Blackheads and whiteheads
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Dull complexion
  • Dry or oily skin
  • Acne and mild acne scars
  • Sun damage

What to Expect During Treatment

The procedure is comfortable and does not require an anesthetic. Our practitioner will use a stainless-steel handheld wand to blast the skin with a gentle stream of ultra-fine crystals. These crystals help dislodge dead and damaged skin cells. The device’s vacuum then suctions away the dead skin cells, particles and debris. This safe and hygienic treatment immediately leaves your skin feeling softer and smoother.

What is the Downtime?

One of the best features of microdermabrasion is that it requires very minimal to no downtime. Your skin may be slightly pink following treatment, depending on your skin’s sensitivity and the settings used. Some patients report that it feels like a mild sunburn. Your skin may also be a bit dry for a couple of days. We recommend using a good moisturizer and sunscreen after treatment. Makeup can be used after treatment, so you can get right back to your daily activities.

If You Look Good, You Feel Good.

Nothing feels better than being able to put your best face forward. Microdermabrasion treatment at OBI BioAesthetic Institute can help you look and feel your best. Contact us today to schedule your consultation.
