About Botox®

Botox® is the leading noninvasive cosmetic treatment in the world. This neuromodulator contains a highly purified protein which works to temporarily relax the muscles that cause wrinkles to appear. Millions of Americans receive treatment with Botox® each year, and it has an excellent safety record.

Benefits of Botox®

This product works beautifully in treating dynamic wrinkles caused by your facial expressions. The most common treatment area is the upper third of the face, which includes the forehead, between the brows and eye areas. Botox® can be used to address the following cosmetic concerns:

  • Horizontal lines across the forehead
  • Vertical lines between the brows, also called the “11s”
  • Crow’s feet
  • Fine lines around the mouth
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Downward pull at corners of the mouth
  • Chin lines
  • Brow lift or brow balancing
  • Wrinkles in the neck area

At OBI BioAesthetic Institute, Botox® is one of the many injectables we offer, and we use it to help address other issues that may be impacting your quality of life and well-being. These include excessive sweating and headaches.

Treating You from the Inside, Out

It started as a purely cosmetic procedure, but Botox® has developed into something that can improve your well-being. From hyperhidrosis, TMJ, and migraines, Botox® can make a difference in your life.

Hyperhidrosis causes your body to produce an abnormal amount of sweat and can sometimes be improved with prescription antiperspirants. Botox® can treat excessive perspiration from your armpits, and the procedure can reduce sweating on other parts of your body as well.

The temporomandibular joint or TMJ is used in any activity that involves your jaw moving. When this joint is overworked or displaced, it can cause severe pain and long-lasting headaches. Botox® injections can release this tension by stopping the movement of the jaw.

What Can I Expect from Botox® Injections?

Botox® is a quick and simple procedure that requires little to no downtime, however specific post-treatment care is necessary and will be discussed during your appointment. One of our expertly trained practitioners will inject the treatment into the target area using an ultra-fine needle. Most patients agree that it is a virtually painless procedure. You can typically go back to your daily routine once leaving our office. The initial onset will take three to five days with full onset around ten to fourteen days. Results are generally enjoyed for three to four months.
