About Juvederm® Ultra XC

This product is part of the Juvederm® family of dermal filler products. These hyaluronic acid-based injectables soften moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles, creating a more youthful appearance. Since hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body, it is a safe and effective anti-aging tool.

Juvederm® Ultra XC has a lower viscosity and is specially formulated to add fullness to the lips. Juvederm® Ultra XC is FDA-approved for lip enhancement to give you fuller, softer and more supple lips. Whether you have always wished you had fuller lips, or your lips have thinned with aging, this treatment is excellent for adding volume to this area. It can also be used to smooth out lip borders and treat fine lines in other areas of the face, including mild nasolabial folds and crow’s feet.

What Should I Expect from Juvederm® Ultra XC Treatment?

Treatment with Juvederm® Ultra XC at OBI BioAesthetic Institute is quick and relatively painless. The product contains lidocaine to help numb the area as it is injected. After your consultation, a skilled practitioner will make several injections in the lips and around the lip line. This technique results in a natural and symmetrical appearance, which can last up to a year or more.

There is typically no downtime with Juvederm,® however specific post-treatment care is necessary and will be discussed during your appointment, and most patients are able to return to their daily activities following the procedure. Some people experience mild soreness and bruising. To reduce the chance of bruising, we suggest avoiding taking items such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E and certain supplements one week prior to treatment. The use of arnica and bromelain may also help decrease bruising.
