How long have you been operating?
OBI BioAesthetic Institute has been open since 2017. Gerrie has been a practicing Nurse Practitioner in the Aesthetics industry for over 30 years!
Who will do my procedure?
Gerrie M. Obi, who brings over three decades of plastic and aesthetic experience. She earned a master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in adult and geriatric primary care. Gerrie is a Master level injector and has held positions in several of the major aesthetic corporations serving as an educator and physician liaison providing clinical and scientific support for various products. Gerrie is also an international trainer; she trains the trainers as well as other Master injectors, both nationally and internationally. She was the first Certified Plastic Surgical Nurse (CPSN) in Northeast Florida and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN). Gerrie has trained thousands of aesthetic providers globally over the past decades, as well as provided innovative aesthetic care in our area for countless patients.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes.
Is there a medical doctor on site?
Florida allows nurse practitioners to work autonomously within their scope of practice but mandates a formal collaboration with a physician. The Florida Board of Nursing and the Florida Board of Medicine jointly regulate the collaborative practice requirements. Gerrie Obi MSN, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, CPSN is allowed by Florida laws to provide care without our Medical Director, Dr. John J. Obi on premises. Although he is generally never more than 30 minutes away.
Will I receive a personalized consultation before treatment?
Yes, absolutely.
Can I do my medical spa treatment at my first meeting?
In most cases, yes. But some treatments are more lengthy and require more time than an initial appointment would provide (unless scheduled for consult + treatment ahead of time) and would be scheduled after the initial consultation for the appropriate duration of time.
Is there a charge for the initial consultation?
Yes. But that charge goes towards the treatment. The consultation fee is essentially an appointment holding fee. It is only collected without service if an appointment is not completed- in the case of last cancellation or no-show.
When will I know how much it will cost?
We can provide an estimate before your appointment; however, because so much of injectable volume is variable, it is difficult to give the exact number of syringes/price without knowing the patient’s anatomy and desires.
